The LASD CH4 is a remote methane detector with a small size and light-weight alloy housing to selectively measure methane concentrations in a line up to 50 meters distant. LASD comprises a Tunable Diode laser (TD) as the light source and a Photo Detector (PD) to measure the reflected light intensity. The CH₄ absorption of laser light at 1.65 μm is free of interference from atmospheric gases including CO₂ and water vapor (H₂O) and offers an excellent selectivity of methane detection. The detector features high sensitivity, instantaneous response, low false alarms, long-term stability, and easy operation. The compact device can be easily carried around to perform leak detection, monitor methane emissions, and protect personnel, assets and environment with minimal maintenance.
